Sessions range in price depending on the individual clinician. It is best to contact the individual therapist to enquire about cost of sessions. Where possible we have listed their hourly fee on their profile found here.
To give you an idea, psychologists charge from £90 - £150 per session, whilst our counsellors and psychotherapists charge from £60 - £90 per session. . Please see our neurodevelopmental website here for the fee’s associated.
Some of our therapists offer a limited amount of reduced rate sessions for those without the financial resources to engage in therapy otherwise. We are also able to signpost you to low-cost services or charitable or NHS services where appropriate during a free consultation.

It is our responsibility to respect your right to confidentiality by recording, processing, and storing of confidential information in a fashion designed to protect a client's right to privacy.
It is necessary to make clear the limitations of confidentiality. Whilst the content of sessions between psychologist and client is confidential, there are exceptional circumstances that result in a legal obligation for me to break client confidentiality. These exceptional circumstances are when there appears sufficient evidence to raise serious concern about:
(a) the safety of clients;
(b) the safety of other persons who may be endangered by the client's behaviour; or
(c) the health, welfare or safety of children or vulnerable adults.There are other supervening legal and ethical obligations, such as my duty to comply with criminal investigations when I am legally obliged to do so.
Some clients request that we liaise with other professionals on their behalf (write to a GP, meet with carers/teachers/psychiatrists etc.). We are happy to facilitate such information sharing in circumstances whereby the individual is able to give their consent. We will only share information if expressly asked to by the client, and require written consent to do this (unless in the exceptional circumstances outlined in the confidentiality agreement).
Children and vulnerable adults in particular must be given ample opportunity to understand the nature, purpose, and anticipated consequences of any professional information sharing, so that they may give informed consent to the extent that their capabilities allow. Whilst requests of this nature are common, and often helpful, we can only agree to participate in information sharing with informed consent and when it is in our professional opinion that it is in a client's best interest.

There is no 'right' reason for seeking psychological therapy. Many chose to seek a psychologist to cope with a difficult life event or difficulties in a certain area of life. Life issues could include bereavement, relationship difficulties, domestic violence or the aftereffects of childhood abuse, while mental health problems could include eating disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder or psychosis. Some have noticed that their life involves patterns of behaviour or relationship difficulties. Others feel lost, confused or are struggling with their sense of identity.
Some people want to learn about themselves and describe deciding to engage in a process of personal growth. Some suspect they are neurodivergent and want a formal assessment. We are all shaped by our experiences and can learn to understand, accept or change things about ourselves.
Please email us at carltonpsychology@outlook.co.uk with any other questions. If your question is for a specific professional — please email them directly. Thank you.
